Liberty Gas Storage is developing an underground salt-cavern, natural gas storage facility in south Louisiana. Natural gas storage provides an added degree of deliverability and supply-demand balancing to liquefied natural gas shippers, producers, local industrial end users, distribution companies and others in the market.

Liberty Gas Storage is a partnership of ProLiance Transportation and Storage and Sempra Pipelines and Storage. The facility will have an initial working capacity of 17 Bcf and be capable of providing rapid injection/withdrawal services, with injections at 500,000 Dth/day and withdrawals at 1 Bcf/day. The facility is currently providing hub services via a 30-inch pipeline and meter connections to six interstate pipelines.

Liberty Gas Storage has received all required permits by the the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
